This was my very first portrait done in West Java, Indonesia.

When I arrived at the scene, my subject was resting. The cloudy sky provided an unbeatable background.

There was no one around except the subject and me. I quickly pulled him near the fence, and I began shooting with my super wide angle.

While I was photographing, I told him to pretend I didn’t exist.

He nodded and changed to a different pose. He appeared relaxed and more natural. I switched to a lower angle to give more emphasis to the dramatic sky.

When I saw the wandering look, I knew I had my shot.
