After shooting the bull race, we went back home. The bull racing was exciting and we had a lot of fun photographing the action.

On the bus, the group couldn’t get enough of it, and they were talking about it fervently.

On the way to the hotel, the local guide suddenly noticed a group of students playing games in the rice fields.

It turned out that this was part of the celebration program arranged by the local school during the Indonesian National Day.

The children were covered in mud and were playing in the paddy fields. With the mud splashing around, the noise, the laughter and cheers of parents, and the sunset, the air was filled with a joyful atmosphere, so how could this group of photography enthusiasts, miss it?

They all jumped off the bus.

Watching a group of children immersed in a happy atmosphere, the scene is moving, but also lets the crowd out of mixed feelings.

I was rather pessimistic, thinking that the pure innocence of children, their innocent and simple nature, had gradually disappeared with the so-called invasion of civilization. But I didn’t expect this nature to reappear in the mud.

This child in the picture is sitting in the mud, smiling and letting me take pictures. His charming smile was contagious to me.

One of the group members said it well: “Does it cost anything to be happy? The answer is: ‘No.’”

Happiness is not judged by how much you own, but by how little you need.
