It is not difficult to find an idea for an apple as a theme in any artistic creation. From the surrealist to the beginner, the apple, I believe, has been at the center of their creativity.

The apple brings with it deep metaphors of evil, taboo, knowledge, immortality, and temptation.

Apples also appear in literature. The popular fable of Snow White, “After Apple Picking” by poet Robert Frost (1874-1963), and many others.

Interestingly, apples rarely appear in Chinese literature, and “Dream of the Red Chamber” does not mention them at all. There is a saying: “Art is life, life is art”. Engaging in art, many subjects originate from daily life. Perhaps the author had little contact with apples in his everyday live, so he did not mention them at all in his writings.

This composition is the continuation of “Pushing the Envelope”. It still challenges the two extremes, seemingly unrelated but subtly linked together.

This time it is apples and flames.

Is it evil? Is it forbidden? Is it a temptation? Maybe you can tell me the metaphor.

At the same time, I try to lock the viewer’s interest in the frame, from left to right, then right to left, without letting it leave the frame.
